Do you know how to
enhance job performance among employees? Nowdays, most of the companies concern
about the job performance to achieve the objective goal. Job performance is an individual output in
terms of quality and quantity expected from every employee in a particular
job. Individual performance most of the
time is determined by motivation and the will and ability to do the job. It is also a way for manager to measure job
performance and productivity of an employee.
In an organisation, job performance is very important because it
requires employee to understand the job requirement, expected scope, key
responsibilities, knowledge and skills of the job. Besides that, it helps to facilitate
communication between manager and employees regarding job related
activities. Employees should know the
ways to improve job performance in their works to achieve objective or
goals. They are many ways to improve job
performance among employees including sharpening communication skills, forming
network connection and increasing employee’s motivation.
The first way to
improve job performance among employees is by sharpening communication
skills. One of the ways to sharpen
communication skills is by forming friendly situation among employees and
manager (Melissa Norman, 2013). The
manager must make the employees feel that their rights and opinions were treating
equally (Melissa Norman, 2013). Besides
that, open and on-going communication between manager and employees can help to
keep professionalism objectives clear, project focused and potential workplace
conflicts from getting out of hand, when expectations and issues are regularly
discussed by manager and employees in both formal and informal ways, all
employees members will have a better understanding of the status of the work
relationship. Manager also should also
listen to employee’s problem and solve it in proper ways (Van Zijil, 1999).
Furthermore, ways to sharpen communication
skills is by guiding the employees on how to communicate effectively (Psychological
Associates Incorporation, 2004). The
employees must use a proper body language and intelligible manner (Van Zijil,
1999). For an example, a proper body
language is by making an eye contact. The
employee must give an eye contact when talking to others to create a better
connection and see if the employees are listening. The last way to communicate effectively is by
creating a two-way communication between listener and a speaker. The employees and manager can communicate
more effectively by listening more effectively.
By making the message more understanding, it will help the listener to
understand the message from the speaker.
Secondly, forming a
good network connection is another way to improve performance among employees.
It is because network connection is essential element in making the process
generate smoothly. In other means it gives opportunity to workers to do task
clearly and understanding their works better (Melissa Norman, 2013). Plus, it
can build trust between employees and manager on tasks given whereby there are
spiritual elements inside them to perform task given with full responsibility
and face any situation in their workplace (Melissa Norman, 2013). Besides that,
teamwork that builds in an organising can help production to identify strengths
and weaknesses among employees. It also helps manager to identify employees
that perform effective and efficiently (Rees, 1999). Furthermore, a strong
network connection and teamwork can maximize and fully utilize employees’
ability to perform in good condition (Rees, 1999). This also help manager to identify lazy and
hardworking worker, worker that can be promoted to higher position and worker
must give training to enhance their performance in the future. If workers and manager have good teamwork,
they can be tolerant to perform in tough situation (Rees, 1999). It also helps to build sense of togetherness
between employees and manager (Psychological Associates Incorporation, 2004).
It also can get great impact on employees’ performances because they felt treated
equally and good ways. It also can build high and competitive elements among
employees.
This element is the key change
to an increased focus on efficiency and productivity (Skotnicki, 2013). Good
and high cooperation between employees and manager can help them to delegate
important tasks to all employees in an organisation based on their abilities
and specialities to enhance great performance from them (Van Zijil, 1999).
Thirdly, increase
employees’ motivation is final way to enhance performance among employees. Motivation
can be in terms of promotion, rewards and appraisal. Motivation is a good way
to increase effective and efficiency in organization because it cheap and easy
to do it (Skotnicki, 2013). It is very important injection to increase
employees’ performance which means the motivation can keep employees too consistent
and focus on production without any reasons to be lazy and not perform well in
organisation (Psychological Associates Incorporation, 2004). It also can help
employees to build their willingness instead of forcefully work in an organisation.
There are numerous ways to give motivation to employees were promotion, bonus
and appraisal. Every employee has different goals in an organisation instead of
the company’s goal (Rosen, 2004). Plus, most workers in an organisation has intention
to gain bonus that been given at the end of the year. Besides that, some
workers would search for appraising from the manager or higher position in an
organisation and promotion from their position to a higher position in
organization with high responsibility. This is because employees really
interested to challenge themselves to face new situation in an organisation
(Rosen, 2004).
In conclusion, job
performance among employees can be increase by employee’s motivation, forming
network communication and improve sharpening communication skill. This is because it could help the organisation
to achieve the objectives, preventing from miscommunication and
misguidance. Therefore, job performance
among employees is very important because it can bring effect to an
organisation if it is not taken action.
If it is not taken action it can bring bad effect to the companies such
as profit loss and increase in turnover of labour.
